Print study task four; specialist production & definitions.

Banner and billboard printing.

Being able to blow artwork up to these sizes means that a client has many options when it comes to the scale of their work. These machines also hold the capability of being able to print on to vinyl so that the design will last a long time once its put up in the outside world. The machine is loaded with a roll of paper so its quite handy with the fact it can be left to do its job and won't run out of paper unless the clients design is longer than the roll. Generally banners are not mass produced so although this process is expensive due to the ink and amount of stock used it tends to be more of a one off for a client so they expect the highest quality. These machines also mean that there is no need for a design to be tiled across small sheets of paper because when this is done it can be messy and you can lose quality in the design with the breaks in the sheets being semi visible.
