What is design for screen?

This website is simplistic but that works for me due to the fact I can make a link between the style of the site and the artists work straight away and it doesn't look as though he's trying to hard to promote himself.

What if...

Due to the nature of this brief we had to carry out a body of research to back up that our chose problem was actually a real problem. We did a range of things to do this such as producing a questionnaire to get public views on graffiti. We also looked for stories in the media, other secondary opinions and then went out and photographed graffiti in our own area. After doing so we could prove that what we want to address is a genuine problem.

Emily Ward - it has a really good art scene, lots of galleries and everyone is generally friendly.
Steph Morgan - the roads are sooo hard to follow.
Dana Atkinson - good place to go for a days shopping, but hasn’t got much going for it otherwise, it hasn’t got the history etc like york.
Baljeet Samra - It's a vibrant city with lots to do and an amazing Art college.
Sophie Wilson - an exciting, yet homely city which is always crammed with events- a fun and youthful place.
Hayley Simpson - Never been but would love to visit.
James Dowson - It has amazing nightlife and awesome shops!
James Tasane - it has a nice feel to the place and doesn’t feel like a big massive city like london where you could easily get lost.
Rachel Doughty - Female accent is bad!! they are so loud and hard to understand.
Alice tasane - The road system is confusing n not clearly sign posted.
Benji Turgel - Love it prefer it soo much more than london! However the one thing which is annoying for me in Leeds is there isn't much variety to get hold of kosher food.
Melissa Beach - I dont really know leeds. but from the times ive been i think they need more shops! well food shops atleast. went to the armouries and the only food shop close to it was tesco.
Beth Owen - I love it most when it snows!
James Nicholl - Leeds is the bizzle!
Joe Warburton - I was a bit weary moving to Leeds but I settled in quickly. Everything is near-by and accesible and it isn't as big as it is made out to be - though that's probably because I've only stayed in the centre. The only thing I hate is dragging my food shopping over the numerous hills.
Sophie Gerhard - Bad place to be if you have no money and love to shop!
Paul McGee - Got a snowboard slope near there so I like it. Never been to leeds or out properly though just driven through.
Tom Laverick - Pretty nice place, awful to drive through though!
Amy Wade - It's a good city for a social life. Good night scene, good shops. Good facilities for education uses like the uni etc. Bad roads, a bit scary in some areas, but overall quite a pleasant city.

No news is good news; message and delivery.

As my idea was going to be based upon informing parents of how their child could be effect by tv I did a bit of research into what has been said about this.

from: http://kidshealth.org/parent/positive/family/tv_affects_child.html
Of course, television, in moderation, can be a good thing: Preschoolers can get help learning the alphabet on public television, grade schoolers can learn about wildlife on nature shows, and parents can keep up with current events on the evening news. No doubt about it — TV can be an excellent educator and entertainer.
But despite its advantages, too much television can be detrimental:
  • Children who consistently spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV are more likely to be overweight.
  • Kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them.
  • TV characters often depict risky behaviors, such as smoking and drinking, and also reinforce gender-role and racial stereotypes.

  • two-thirds of infants and toddlers watch a screen an average of 2 hours a day
  • kids under age 6 watch an average of about 2 hours of screen media a day, primarily TV and videos or DVDs
  • kids and teens 8 to 18 years spend nearly 4 hours a day in front of a TV screen and almost 2 additional hours on the computer (outside of schoolwork) and playing video games.
I've also looked at some mail shots for inspiration.
