Illustrative type; HMV

If the company off the reel were to expand via other existing companies I think that HMV would be perfect because they sell films so this makes a connection to the brand I have created. I came up with the idea of placing the products in HMV stores because obviously the company sell music but they also sell band t-shirt's so this could be applied in the same way to film. This would have a positive impact because HMV are already a very established company and would give my brand coverage throughout the country with all the stores they have.

Coca-Cola; colour considerations for bottle design.

Before I started designing the actual bottles I thought i'd research the previous years' christmas bottles to see if there was any consistency within the bottle design. I found that the colour red has always been used and reallistically thinking about this, it makes sense because this red is what has branded santa claus and christmas so it's important to keep using this. It's also a way in which the brand is recognised as well as linking to christmas. When it comes to my own designs now, I know the main colour I will try and utilize is red.

Coca-Cola; repeat pattern on bottles.

I came up with the concept of using the christmas imagery in a repeat pattern style on my own bottles but I wanted to see if this had been used by any previous designers of the limited edition bottles. I found a few examples of bottles that had been done using this style so now i'll have to think about how I can make my designs more unique whether it be the style of my artwork or the way in which I apply it. These images also gave me inspiration for my own work.

Quotes to use on my products.
There wasn't really a 'top' number of quotes for this film so I decided to choose some of the most memorable and well known quotes from it instead. A lot of these tended to be a lot shorter than with other films but I feel the typeface will be a massive indication of which film they have come from.

Illustrative type; top Harry Potter quotes.

Hagrid: You're a wizard, Harry.
Harry: I'm a what?

Albus Dumbledore: It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.

Ron: Why spiders? Why couldn't it be "follow the butterflies?"

Lord Voldemort: There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it...

Dumbledore: It is not our abilities that show what we truly are... it is our choices.

Hermione Granger: Ron, just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon!

Quotes to use on my products.

There was a top number of quotes for this film so I picked from these and tried to go for humorous quotes and also thought about what the audience would go for if they were going to buy it. The most popular is probably the first quote, however.

Illustrative type; top star wars quotes.

Quotes to use on my products.

I already had an idea of the quote i'd like to use for this film because there is one that's most famous but thought i'd research others just to see what else I had available to me.

The Wind in the Willows; bookshelf banner inspiration.

Just before I started designing my bookshelf banner for this project, I googled the title to see what existing banners there was. Originally I was thinking of a uniform, straightforward rectangle design but I found this image of bunting. This then gave me a really good idea, that I could use the bunting to create a banner but obviously personalise it with the characters I'd already created. I think this engages better with the target audience because it's quite fun and quirky and more so decorative so could be sold as a further product.
