If the company off the reel were to expand via other existing companies I think that HMV would be perfect because they sell films so this makes a connection to the brand I have created. I came up with the idea of placing the products in HMV stores because obviously the company sell music but they also sell band t-shirt's so this could be applied in the same way to film. This would have a positive impact because HMV are already a very established company and would give my brand coverage throughout the country with all the stores they have.

Quotes to use on my products.
There wasn't really a 'top' number of quotes for this film so I decided to choose some of the most memorable and well known quotes from it instead. A lot of these tended to be a lot shorter than with other films but I feel the typeface will be a massive indication of which film they have come from.
Illustrative type; top Harry Potter quotes.
Hagrid: You're a wizard, Harry.
Harry: I'm a what?
Albus Dumbledore: It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.
Ron: Why spiders? Why couldn't it be "follow the butterflies?"
Harry: I'm a what?
Albus Dumbledore: It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.
Lord Voldemort: There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it...
Dumbledore: It is not our abilities that show what we truly are... it is our choices.
Hermione Granger: Ron, just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon!

There was a top number of quotes for this film so I picked from these and tried to go for humorous quotes and also thought about what the audience would go for if they were going to buy it. The most popular is probably the first quote, however.

I already had an idea of the quote i'd like to use for this film because there is one that's most famous but thought i'd research others just to see what else I had available to me.

- “These blast points — too accurate for sandpeople. Only imperial stormtroopers are so precise.”
- “I’ve got a very bad feeling about this.”
- “You’ve never heard of the Millennium Falcon? … It’s the ship that made
- “When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master.”“Only a master of evil, Darth.”

More illustrative type.
I got really stuck with my illustrative type brief at one point so decided to research more into illustrative type to see if I could more inspired! This has definitely helped because some of the things i've found have shown me that I could simply distort a font in order to make it 'illustrative' and represent a particular film, I could use texture in order to make a font look like a material it actually isn't and maybe represent an object and using pattern and depth throughout a typeface can also make it represent a particular thing, message or film in my case. I've found some great work whilst researching this area again and via behance have been able to see where people began with this so hopefully I can use these things as tips.
Illustrative type; film merchandise.
I researched film merchandise to give me some idea of the products I could use within my range if I hadn't already considered some of the ones above. It also gives me an idea of how products work together and whether the obvious route in terms of design is best or whether to be quite experimental with it. The interesting thing was that when I was researching this, I didn't actually find anything for any of the films I was looking at but I know for a fact that due to their popularity you can get hold of many products. I don't know whether me not seeing them is a good thing or not because it could mean I don't take inspiration from something that has already been done and I create something completely new and unique.
Illustrative type; film imagery.
I sourced some images from each of the films off google images in order to try and inspire myself for the illustrative typefaces. These images give me ideas on what colours I could use within my typefaces, the textures I could use and also even the type of typeface I could look at creating in terms of the font style. I want to try and steer well clear of the original film typefaces if I can because I want there to be a little mystery behind the typeface and if I used one of those it would make it too obvious. Having knowledge on each of the films already is definitely going to benefit me.
Illustrative type; film choices.
I choose the above three films because I wanted to go for a range of films as I want my company to suit all ages of target audience. I also wanted to try and cover a few different tastes within the film industry. These films I know personally, are very popular amoungst people of all ages so the choice was pretty easy but to back up the decisions I've got some figures above of how much the films have made, therefor showing the popularity.

I looked at a few examples of illustrative type to see what I could possibly come up with for my own designs. Although I really like the examples with both imagery and text I feel that i'd like more of a focus on the type and not really any imagery to distract away from this. A big consideration to make the type communicate properly is the colours I use so this is something I need to remember to experiment with. Although there has been other examples of one of the themes i've chosen for a film I think the ideas I currently have in mind are very different so i'm not worried about doing something that has been done before.

Illustrative type; movie typefaces.
These are typefaces I have found for the three films I have chosen to develop illustrative typefaces on. Each already seems to have a specific themed typeface so I now need to think about how I can use these to my advantage to create my own exciting and interesting typeface. I need to use these as a template to begin some intial ideas.
